Advanced Practicum (new offering STARTS LATE January 2025)

an on-line opportunity to work in a new way to deepen your practice and hone your teaching skills. Offerings include a teachers discussion group/master classes/ bi-monthly mysore/pranayama work with an on-going mentorship.   This program is intended to enhance and support other workshop and trainings, allowing us to work in a more in-depth way with a practical application.    

Advanced Practicum offers both a practitioners and teachers option with on-going mentorship or, you may enrol in individual components or, in combination.

This program is open to all students who have previously taken our May workshop and Mysore workshops.

  • Teachers discussion Forum (offered via zoom)  

An opportunity to discuss teaching best practices/philosophy/ personal experience with your fellow peers. Topics: Teaching & Practice Methodology/ Best Practices/ Shared Teaching Experiences/ Collaborative discussion. 75//90 minute sessions offered bi-monthly (every two months), weekend session

What are the classical pranayamas? How may these traditional pranaymana’s be sequenced to develop a practice? Does the current science support the efficacy of this ancient tradition? This workshop will introduce a new pranayama series contrasting its format with the traditional ashtanga’s pranayama series.

  • Weekend mysore Classes (6 Weekend afternoons scheduled bi-monthly, for teachers and Practitioners)

These classes are intended to support your practice outside of mysore workshops and include a full led pranayama with discussion.

Our annual five day intensive includes daily morning mysore classes, w/ pranayama practice & in-depth discussion of philosophy. During the afternoon, we dive deep into asana therapy (primary & intermediate), the application of vinyasa in practice as well as the art of therapeutic assists and teaching approaches for beginner and advanced students.

This workshop is for advanced practitioners and teachers who wish to develop their practice and hone their teaching skills. Teachers will have the opportunity to assist in mysore and practice adjustments in a live session with their peers. This workshop has limited enrolment of 10 students.

Full workshop fee $750/$700 (payment by March 1)


Mentorship

an immersive program of practice development and teaching skills taught in independent modules

Mentorship (will not be offered in 2025)

This unique immersion targets practitioners and teachers wishing to deepen their understanding of ashtanga yoga, develop new strategies that enable a sustainable practice while learning and honing their teaching skills of traditional ashtanga.

Offered in modular format, the program offers on-going coaching and guidance through four integrative segments of study: self-paced in-depth study (primary/intermediate/pranayama), in-person mysore & teaching skills immersion & a month long one on one coaching practicum (via zoom).

All program segments may be taken independently - this program offered 150 continuing education hours.

Module 1: On-line Study

Ashtanga Theory/ Primary Series/ Intermediate Series/Pranayama

This module includes 10 study assignments (self- paced learning) with targeted practice assignments, each building on the next. Regular meetings throughout (Zoom) for discussion and Q&A.

*Module 2: Studio Immersion: Mysore classes + The Art of Adjustments

a five day, 30 hour studio intensive incorporating mysore classes, pranayama sessions with afternoon clinics in asana therapy and traditional teaching skills.

*Module 3 - Practicum (Zoom offering)

In practicum, we work one to one over a month, meeting weekly to co-create a practice regime based on your personal lifestyle and practice objectives. This training is useful to those looking to develop/entrench their practice, offering new approaches and perspectives to make your practice sustainable.

All modules may be taken independently as continuing education
